Greetings! I’m Carissa, a newly licensed therapist. My background in nursing, psychology, wellness, diverse abilities/disabilities, and social work give me a wide lens and deep appreciation for individual holistic health. Health looks different to everyone at different times in life, and I believe in putting the connection between physical, mental, social, sexual, spiritual, and environmental wellbeing front and center.

 

My passion is meeting you where you are in your life journey, building a safe therapeutic relationship, and discovering how we can work collaboratively to make changes you want to see in your life.

 

My goal is to utilize an eclectic therapeutic approach that effectively supports and amplifies your unique strengths. I draw from acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychoeducation, movement therapy, eco/green/nature therapy, and transpersonal therapy. I practice from a humanistic perspective and commit to continued learning to best support the specific needs of each client.

 

I am thrilled to be a part of the RISE team! Soon I hope to be pursuing my certification for Sex Therapy. Our bodies and sexuality can be an evolving source of frustration, joy, pain, and pleasure. I feel that everyone is entitled to and can benefit from a fulfilling relationship with their physical bodies and sexual identities and expressions, alone and shared with others.
