Hey there! I’m Max.

 

I am a clinical social worker (aka a therapist) and I identify as a queer, polyamorous trans-man. I am passionate about working with fellow members of the queer community and other underserved populations.

I aim to meet folks where they are at regardless of where that might be on their own spectrum of wellness. 

 

It is one of my most sincerely held beliefs that people are the experts on their own experiences. I do not believe my job as a therapist is to tell you about yourself. I am here to learn from and support you on your mental wellness journey. I think of myself more as a travel companion than an all-knowing guide. There are things I can offer that you might now know, and vice versa. We, client and clinician, are a team.

 

I have both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work from Eastern Michigan University. I moved to Ypsi for college in 2009 and Ypsi hasn’t been able to get rid of me since! I live with my two partners and a small menagerie of animals. 

 

I am a self-described massive nerd. I love video games, reading, seeing movies, and going to concerts. My taste in entertainment, much like my personality, is kind of… a mixed bag. I am a die-hard Swiftie who also very much enjoys pop-punk music. I play video games like Animal Crossing and also ones like Fortnite. As they say, variety is the spice of life!
