Hello, my name is Jacob and I am a graduate student therapist here at RISE! I believe in the perspective and expertise that clients have about their own lives and carry that into the work that I do with them. Creating a trusted collaborative space for clients for us to work on their goals in life is what matters most to me.
I am a homegrown Michigander and have lived in Michigan my entire life. I was born and raised in Rochester, Michigan and moved to Ann Arbor to pursue my education at the University of Michigan. I am a current master's in social work student at Michigan and graduated from the university with my B.S. in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience in 2024. I love to engage with the community here in Ann Arbor through community initiatives.
I am passionate about creating a comforting open space to explore one's gender identity and sexuality, and I believe in the respect that LGBTQIA+ folx deserve and carry that into my practice. In addition, I have past experience working with people who are neurodivergent and am neurodivergent myself. I aim to make sure that each client has their accessibility needs acknowledged and addressed.
Outside of RISE, my hobbies include video games, crafting, thrifting, and trying out new restaurants in the area!
