Hi, I’m Sierra.

I’m an enthusiastic social worker and educator who loves to help people identify, celebrate, and heal their authentic selves and find what serves them.  I have a passion for social justice and an appreciation for the diversity of minds, bodies, identities, and cultures.  I use a holistic approach to therapy to help me understand you and how you interact with your world so that I can better support you through any number of concerns.  My work is collaborative in that I trust you to make decisions that are best for you, but I will also challenge you with insight, suggestions, and new techniques.  I believe that being pushed from our comfort zones is sometimes the best way to grow, but I also know that change can be intimidating.  It’s important to acknowledge that the change that we crave is often inaccessible if we don’t feel safe in our bodies or our environments, so my goal is to help you identify and advocate for your needs, boundaries, and desires first and foremost.

Professionally, I’m a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Social Work and School of Education.  I taught high school for several years and found myself preferring the connections I built with students and the support I was able to give them more than the content I taught them, which is what brought me to therapeutic work.  I still have a heart for teaching, and I am a lecturer at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where I teach an undergraduate course based in Psychology and Sociology.

Personally, I’m a queer, neurodivergent, nature-lover who runs for my own mental and physical health.  I’ve been a Michigander my whole life, and I currently live outside of Ann Arbor with my partner and our 37 houseplants.  We love sunrise hikes, the Great Lakes, and baked goods.

Throughout my practice, I have worked mainly with neurodivergent folks, LGBTQ+ or nonbinary/gender non-conforming folks, and people navigating trauma and its effects.  My experience has made me aware of the unique needs and desires for people with different minds, sensory sensitivities, or physical abilities and characteristics that play into their capacity to feel comfortable with themselves and their sexuality.  I follow a sex-positive and sexuality-affirming framework, which includes recognition and support for asexual and demisexual folks.  I believe that sexual health and relationship wellness are key to overall well-being, and I hope to help you build healthier connections with your body, mind, partner or partners, and sexual health.
