Land Acknowledgement:

We are located on various stolen Lands that are sacred to a number of Indigenous Peoples, including but not limited to Tribes, Nations, and Peoples such as: Peoria, Anishinabewaki ᐊᓂᔑᓈᐯᐗᑭ, Bodwéwadmi (Potawatomi), Wyandot, and Meškwahki·aša·hina (Fox).

 

We thank the Indigenous Peoples for stewarding these Lands for generations and pay respect to the Elders, past, present, and future. For settlers on our team, we acknowledge we occupy and participate in the exploitation of Land that is not native to us. As an organization, RISE advocates for Land Back and Indigenous Sovereignty and integrates this awareness into our therapy and community care.

 

We invite the mental health community to decolonize our ways of being and to dismantle colonial systems (our field included). May we as a community consider our roles in the liberation and restoration of Land, language, and culture for Indigenous Peoples globally.
