Hi, this is Sarya.
If you’re here, maybe there’s a part of yourself you’re trying to understand, or maybe a part you’ve spent a long time hiding because it felt too much, confusing, shameful, or simply not allowed.
I know that feeling.
As a brown, neurodivergent, disabled, fat, sensual/kinky, and spiritual person, I understand how society teaches us to hide, shrink, apologize, or question who we are. I grew up in a culture where sexuality wasn’t something we talked about, and desire came with a lot of rules. There were messages about how bodies should look, how women should behave, what we should want, and what it meant to be a “good” woman.
My own journey has involved unlearning shame around my body, sexuality, eating disorder recovery, neurodivergence, disability, culture, spirituality, and simply taking up space. It taught me how different parts of ourselves can feel like they are contradicting each other, and how powerful it can be to replace shame and fear with curiosity.
Maybe you’re exploring your sexuality or kink, questioning what kind of relationships actually work for you, struggling with body image, trying to understand your ADHD or neurodivergence, navigating cultural or religious expectations, or figuring out how sexuality and spirituality can exist together. You don’t have to already know what you want. We can get curious about it together.
I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan and offer therapy in English and Arabic. I especially enjoy working with adults with ADHD and other forms of neurodivergence, as well as folx navigating body image and disordered eating, KINK, LGBTQ+ identities, polyamory/CNM, sexuality, and fat liberation. My approach is warm, relational, strengths-based, and trauma-informed, with a focus on creating a space that is sex-positive, pleasure-positive, and affirming of different bodies, brains, identities, relationships, and ways of being.
My work is grounded in intersectional feminism, anti-oppressive practice, social justice, and questioning and decolonizing the messages we have been taught about our brains, bodies, relationships, sexuality, and worth.
Depending on what feels meaningful to you, our work may also draw from Internal Family Systems, ADHD coaching, mindfulness, somatic and body-awareness practices, inner-child work, and spirituality (intuition, rituals, Ayurveda, Chakra, archetypes, Buddhist, Islam…).
I’m not here to tell you who you should be. I want therapy to be a place where you can discover what actually feels like you.
